El Tamale Drip is an awesome food stand that operates out of the back area at Sweet Boys Neighborhood Bar in downtown Springfield (310 South Ave., Springfield). They make delicious, small tamales with all sorts of fillings such as veggies and cheese, green chile chicken, a vegan protein with tomatoes and potatoes and last but not least, my favorite, cochinita pibil. That’s a Yucatan-style pulled pork. These tamales are small enough that they can be eaten as an appetizer. Or if you order a few of them, you could turn it into a meal by adding some of the sides such as the elote salad or the Tijuana cole slaw. Either way, a great way to start your night out is with a tamale.
