Keeter Center at Home

While The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks is temporarily closed (meaning you can’t get a stellar meal at Dobyns Dining Room right now), you can still get a taste of the student-made treats by shopping The Keeter Center’s online campus store. In addition to selling shelf-stable products made by students using ingredients grown on campus, the store also offers recipes so you know how to put those tasty treats to use in your own kitchen. We’ll take the scone mix and strawberry-rhubarb preserve please.

Culture Counter is Open

The sweet little neighborhood grocery in Rountree that we’ve all been waiting anxiously for has finally opened its doors. Culture Counter Market & Freshies  is currently having a soft opening, selling locally sourced groceries and serving some locally made treats like Prairie Pie mini pies and Spring Branch Kombucha on tap. Over time, expect to see the shop start to offer its full range of products, like a breakfast bar, homemade ice cream, lunch dishes and more.

Tacos with a Side of Art

As Team Taco continues work on its patio expansion and prepares to open back up to hungry, taco-craving customers, they’ve put some bright touches on their building. Local artist Chris Mostyn has added fun and vibrant hand-painted murals that protect the expansion’s windows while construction is going on around them. So while you can’t get your hands on a taco just yet, you can enjoy the artwork while you stroll the neighborhood.

Skully’s Moves Out of the Truck

Last week, Skully’s Food Truck served their last meal in their little food trailer, as they prepare to open up the doors of their brand new brick-and-mortar building at Pickwick Avenue and Cherry Street in Rountree. Oh boy! We have been waiting for this, and we can’t wait to dig into a steamy bowl of Shroom N Fu mushroom and smoked tofu ramen with all those good veggies. The restaurant is closed all of this week to get set up, so keep an eye out next week for their big reopening!

Wake Up to Something Sweet

Tea Bar and Bites Bakery and Cafe has been selling adorable little Good Morning Boxes that have everything you need to start your day off on a tasty note. You get three berry scones, three mocha chocolate chip muffins and a bag of Zen Blend coffee to make at home and perk you right up. If sweets aren’t your thing, though, the fluffy, flakey, savory Homemade Biscuit Box might be more your speed, with six homemade biscuits, sausage gravy, honey butter and strawberry jam. What a delightful way to do breakfast at home.
