1. Winery Hopping

Wineries are one of the things Ste. Genevieve, Missouri is known for, and there are some great options for wine tasting, such as Chaumette Vineyard & Winery, Crown Valley, Charleville Vineyards and Cave Vineyard & Distillery. Draw straws for the designated driver, and go try some Missouri wines in beautiful settings.

2. Cheese Indulging

At Baetje Farms, the owners raise the cutest goats and make some seriously tasty award-winning goat cheese. Availability varies, but the farm makes everything from classic goat cheese to bolder options like the bloomy rind Miette or the super-soft Bloomsdale.

3. Honey Tasting

Located in a historic building downtown Harold’s Famous Bee Co. features a honey bar where you can sample the beekeeping owners’ best work. There are tons of samples and other locally made honey products for sale as well, like honey candy and body balm.

4. Bike Riding

Oof! That was a lot of sampling. You can work off all that wine, cheese and honey by cycling around the city and along the Mississippi River. You don’t even have to bring your own bike because you can rent one from Rollin on the River Bike Rental & Mercantile (291 Merchant St., 573-330-4105).

5. Restful Snoozing

Sleepaway the busy day you just had by spending a night or two at Audubon’s Hotel. This tiny seven-room boutique hotel was first opened in 1904 and was most recently remolded in 2018. It’s located in the town’s cute historic district and has a tasty restaurant on-site.
