Ingredients for martini
1.5 ounces Missouri Spirits vodka
1 ounce tomato water
0.5 ounces basil-infused simple syrup
1 pearl mozzarella
Fresh basil for garnish
Balsamic vinegar “caviar” and dehydrated tomato for garnish (see recipes online)
Ingredients for simple syrup
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
2 sprigs basil
Make simple syrup by combining sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and add basil sprigs. Let steep for 20 minutes. Discard basil and strain syrup into a container.
For the cocktail, combine vodka, tomato water and syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 20 seconds. Strain into martini glass and float a slice of dehydrated tomato. Garnish with vinegar “caviar,” a pearl of mozzarella and basil.
