Behind the Design

As 417 Magazine’s Creative Director, I pull inspiration from all over. Design is a passion of mine, and when I’m out scouting products to feature in the magazine, I run across items I just have to share with our readers. The magazines are all about autumn right now, and I can’t help but look forward to a cozy bonfire in my backyard. Here are some local finds that are on my list to create the best weenie roast in 417-land.
1. Wood Grain: Not only are these chargers crazy affordable ($5.95 small, $8.95 large, at Me and My House), they are the perfect size. Use them for the entire fall and winter season in new and different ways to get the ultimate bang for your buck.
2. Mad for Plaid: During fall, the only clothing style I think of other than soft sweaters is plaid. This new spin on traditional plaid flannel ($68 at STAXX) is the perfect item to pair with high-waisted skirts or denim this season. It’s super soft, and I especially love the colors.
3. Foxy Flavor: How cute are these ORS paper napkins ($5.50 at The Market)? The illustration is enchanting and would make the most unexpected addition to your weekend bonfire.
4. The Bigger the Better: This year it’s finally time to splurge on the ever popular copper Moscow Mule mugs ($29.95 at the Market). This specific style is oversized, which is definitely better when you spend the time making a delicious hot beverage.Edit ModuleShow Tags
