Pits N Grills

1920 E. Sunshine St., Springfield, 417-501-8737, facebook.com/pitsngrills

What They Do: If your life craves more flames and flavor, head to Pits N Grills to get a new, well, pit or grill. The shop carries grills, smokers and all the tools you need to make a great meal. Check out its line of flavored woods and perfect the taste of your meat with rubs and sauces. It also has accessories you didn’t know you needed, like the Bison Airlighter, which is a cordless torch and blower with a built-in flashlight and bottle opener. You can also pick up spatulas, tongs and grill forks to help Dad master the art of meat.

Our Favorite Gift: A certificate for classes with Brad Leininger, a top-ranked barbecue master. Each two-hour class teaches a new protein and is as much a social event as it is a learning event.

Who It’s For: The dad who specializes in steak.

Grayson Home

2814 S. Fremont Ave., Springfield, 417-299-0227, graysonhome.co

What They Do: Grayson Home achieves the perfect mix of rustic and modern in everything it sells. The store has all the home décor, furniture and gifts you need to add a little punch of style to your dad’s day. If you’re not in the market for a new sofa or chair, you can still choose from leather goods, candles, books, beard oils and grooming products, notebooks and more.

Our Favorite Gift: Loyal Stricklin leather-wrapped insulated mugs branded with the Grayson Home logo. You can choose from black, light tan and dark tan leather, and Dad will never have to worry about cold coffee again.

Who It’s For: The dad who’s a morning person.

The Haberdasher at Dapper

312 Park Central East, Springfield, 417-720-1196, dapperdowntown.com

What They Do: The Haberdasher has all the accessories a fine gentleman needs to complete his look after getting cleaned up at Dapper Barber (members get a 10 percent discount). The store has boots and shoes, cuff links, jewelry, ties, socks, pocket squares, hats and belts from international lines not commonly carried in 417-land. You can find pieces by Clocks and Colours, Paul Hewitt and Alden. Associates can even help you get fitted for a custom-made suit. Beyond accessories, you can also find the same professional barware used at The Hepburn so you can make high-quality cocktails at home.

Our Favorite Gift: OTAA Brothers accessories, especially ties. The Haberdasher carries about 50 ties in every pattern and made in every material you can imagine.

Who It’s For: The dad with great style.

Just For Him

1334 E. Battlefield Rd., Springfield, 417-886-8380, justforhim.com

What They Do: Just For Him is Springfield’s tobacco headquarters. One half of the store is dedicated to smoking tools, sets and accessories, complete with a humidor full of flavorful cigars and a smoking lounge. The other half is filled with accessories and gifts like shaving supplies, hats, drinkware and games. You can easily spend a couple of hours here browsing the shelves for something cool and quirky to give your dad.

Our Favorite Gift: Safety razors and straight razors. Just For Him has a wide selection of wet shaving supplies, complete with brushes and soaps that will keep Dad looking fresh.

Who It’s For: The dad who appreciates the finer things in life.

Manly Cans

405 N. Jefferson Ave., Suite 104, Springfield, 417-485-2267, manlycans.com

What They Do: True to its name, Manly Cans carries tin cans filled with snacks, meats and cheeses, tech toys, car accessories, camping gear and other tools and trinkets fit for a father. You can choose from pre-assembled cans in 1-gallon, 4-gallon and 6-gallon sizes. The Canivore is its most popular pre-built can, filled to the brim with beef jerky, wild game snacks, summer sausages and all things meaty. Everything in the cans is reusable, down to the burlap sack and “man card” coaster.

Our Favorite Gift: The can you assemble a can yourself with Dad in mind. If you’re looking for a little bit of everything, you can fully customize a can—just pick a size, then fill it with Dad’s favorite candy, snacks, cigars, electronics and things you know he needs but won’t buy himself. Local delivery is just $5, and national shipping is $10.

Who It’s For: The dad who keeps it all together.
