Farmers Gastropub’s New Menu

And the wait is over, folks! One of our favorite restaurants in town has a new menu crafted by Chef Andy Hampshire and his team and it’s looking as good as always. I’m particularly excited to try some of the new dishes such as the chicken bao with a Gochujang barbecue sauce for that extra kick or the house cheddar biscuits with onion jam. Also, for my vegetarian crew, there’s a black bean and brussel burger with onion jam and aioli on a brioche that sounds fantastic. Overall, lots of delicious and mouthwatering options on this new menu, so here’s a link for you guys to go check it out.

Scotch Lovers, Get Ready

Where are all of my Macallan Scotch fans at? I mean, we already know how delicious Scottish whisky can be, so what if we let Big Cedar Lodge do its thing and make a meal out of it? Executive Chef Ted Hill is setting up a five-course pairing dinner at the Worman House Bistro on Wednesday March 2 where the best of the Macallan portfolio will be paired with the ideal dish to highlight and elevate its taste and feel. Wookie Dogs Pop-Up

There’s a local group making WookieDogs and they describe them as a play on Korean corn dogs, they use a yeast-based batter and deep fry them, then roll them in Panko breadcrumbs and finally use all sorts of unique and delicious toppings to make these super tasty treats come to life. WookieDogs are fun, funky and totally worth a try. This upcoming Monday February 28, they will be taking over the kitchen at Lindberg’s Tavern on Commercial Street, so show your inner foodie a good time and check them out.

Hy-Vee Opens Today

I’m assuming everyone is as excited for this store as I am, right? I’ve been wondering, speculating and just wishing on all the amazing things this new concept for Hy-Vee will have and it sounds like my wishes have come true. I mean, there’s a candy shop inside the store and a global cheese counter, wine cellar and even a cigar humidor! I may just never ever leave this place. We got a sneak peak inside and here’s what we learned about this ground-breaking new concept and all the really unique perks it has for us all.
