Kingdom Coffee's Second Location is Open

East side coffee lovers rejoice: Kingdom Coffee's second location, at 2896 S. Lone Pine Ave., is officially open. The coffee shop first opened in Springfield in 2009 and has been in the downtown location since 2014. The new, second location sits along the Galloway Creek Greenway and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the surrounding greenery inside. In addition to the coffee and food menus that can be found at the downtown location, their team told us late last year that a few boozy beverages will likely be available, too.

Plant-Based Junk Food Pop-Up

Vulture Foods is a group of plant-based junk food enthusiasts based out of Los Angeles. They travel around the U.S. and serve plant-based comfort food at local venues, like breweries. On Sunday, they'll be passing through Springfield, setting up camp at Mother's Brewing Company from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exact menu for the day won't be posted until the morning of, but based off a glimpse of their social media, you can expect to find things like vegan fried chicken sandwiches, loaded fries, and nachos. Their food looks seriously delicious, so it's surely worth a try whether you regularly eat vegan or not.

"Pint for a Pint"

As the daughters of a Community Blood Center of the Ozarks founding member, Hold Fast Brewing owners Susan and Carol McLeod have teamed up with CBCO for this "Pint for a Pint" event. This Friday, from noon to 6 p.m., CBCO's Bloodmobile will be parked outside Hold Fast Brewing, and anyone who donates blood will receive a coupon for a free pint from Hold Fast and a free T-shirt. Walk-ins will be welcome, but those interested are encouraged to register for a time slot on the CBCO website. Of course, it's not suggested that alcohol be consumed on the same day as blood is donated, so free pint coupons will be valid until June 4.

More Tacos (El Champu), Please

Tacos El Champu already has two locations: a brick and mortar on 21st Street in Ozark and a taco truck on South Campbell in Springfield. Now, there's even more to go around. Tacos El Champu opened its third location in the Battlefield Mall food court earlier this month, where they're offering all of their delicious and authentic tacos, tortas and more.
