Party Planting: A Cut Garden for the Laidback Host

Have you always wanted a cutting garden but have no idea where to begin? Worry that you don't have time, that it's too much work? Katie Hoesch is opening up her backyard garden in Nixa for a personalized workshop to show us how simple it can be along with friends from Alps, Nixa Hardware & Seed Company and Found Farm!

On Saturday, April 27, spend the morning with 417 Magazine and Katie Hoesch learning the ins and outs of a cutting garden and leave with seedlings to get you on your way.

In just 1.5 hours, you'll learn the secrets to nurturing vibrant blooms like cosmos, zinnias and fragrant herbs including rosemary and basil.

But that's not all—not only will you leave with a green thumb and a bouquet-to-be, but you'll also be treated to a crafted cocktail that's as refreshing as a spring breeze, paired with a selection of easy yet delectable brunch appetizers to tantalize your taste buds.

Thank you to our generous host, Katie Hoesch, you'll have the chance to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts and enjoy the fruits (or rather, flowers) of you labor in a relaxed, social atmosphere. River Adventure: Float on the James

Dive into the ultimate half-day river escape with a refreshing float  beginning at Shelvin and winding its way to the scenic and private Two Rivers destination. Along this picturesque journey, our gravel banks will host engaging stops filled with cocktails and brunch snacks turning your float into an adventure-filled experience. 

Whether you're a nature enthusiast, seeking relaxation, or thrilled by the prospect of riverside surprises, this event caters to all. Following this gourmet experience, turn your gaze to the skies for a viewing like no other, revealing the mysteries of the night sky.

Note: Star viewing is dependent on sky conditions. If the sky is overcast, we will still provide an activity, share knowledge, and answer all of your space related questions.
