Get Your March Madness on at Social BTB in Joplin

Order a burger and the chicken tenders. They won’t judge you, I promise. For under 20 dollars, you can get the B and the T of Social BTB (1027 S. Main St., Joplin, 417-553-0862). When this spot from Mythos owner George Michalopoulos opened late last year, I was immediately intrigued. If you’re going to put burgers and tenders in the name of your restaurant, they’d better be good. I’m happy to report that’s the case. Social BTB is a large space inside the Gryphon Building, immediately inviting you to sit at the bar or a booth and watch the sports playing around the restaurant. There are TVs above the full bar, which is accompanied by an impressive tap list—the last “B” stands for beer. Put all three together and you’ve got a winning combination. I thought the burger—wonderfully juicy with the restaurant’s name branded on the bun—was slightly better than the tenders, which I wanted to be a bit more crunchy. Get a side of fries and a mess of onion rings and skip the toast that comes with the tenders—you’re filling up enough already! Social BTB is the perfect place to, say, take in a famous tournament that happens every March. Maybe they’ll add a third B.
