If you’re looking for an extra special bit of holiday fun, head out in the evening to enjoy some of the best Christmas lights displays in southwest Missouri. This is our most up-to-date guide for the best lights.

1. Silver Dollar City 

399 Silver Dollar City Parkway, Branson, 800-475-9370,

Cost: $64.49 per adult, $52.66 per child ages 4–11, children younger than 4 are free 

Why We Love It:  Bundle up and visit Saint Nick at Silver Dollar City this holiday season. From your favorite Christmas musicals to a five-story special effects Christmas tree, your season is bound to be more spirited. Try to brave the cold and view all  of the lights from the top of your favorite coaster.

2. Carthage Christmas Lighting Tour 


Cost: Free or by donation 

Why We Love It:  Load up the car and head out on a self-led mini road trip. If you’re starting from the north, check out the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church (15506 Nutmeg Rd, Carthage) light display to see more than 50,000 lights. Then head to the Jasper County courthouse to see lights draped around the historic square. 

3. Sarcoxie Musical Christmas Light Show 

Historic Square, Sarcoxie, 417-548-7242,

Cost: Free

Why We Love It:  Sarcoxie is the oldest town in Jasper County. When it comes to Christmas time festivities, historic towns have a little extra charm. Park your car, crack your window and enjoy more than 40,000 lights and music on the historic downtown square.

4. Branson Limousine Christmas Lights Tour 


Cost: $150–315 for up to 14 guests

Why We Love It:  Grab the family and experience the holidays in the comfort of a warm vehicle. Branson Limousine Christmas Lights Tour takes you on a private tour through multiple light displays in the Branson and Hollister area. 

5. Trail of Lights

Why We Love It:  Visit Shepherd of the Hills for its annual Trail of Lights animated Christmas light display. The two-and-a-half-mile drive-through display features millions of lights that make you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland.
