About Springfield-Greene County Park Board
The Springfield-Greene County Park Board system includes 102 sites, ranging from neighborhood playgrounds to multi-use recreational facilities. The system includes three golf courses, three family centers, Dickerson Park Zoo, the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center, several sporting facilities, eight pools and more than 100 miles of recreational trails. Parks facilities host more than 50 national, state and regional tournaments a year in softball, baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis and golf, generating an estimated $13-$15 million for the local economy.
Kids! The Springfield-Greene County Park Board has a camp for you this summer! Check out SPARC day camps, offered all summer at Ritter Springs Park, as well as before and after Explore at school-park sites, with field trips, swimming, games, crafts, sports, nature activities and team building! Or choose from specialized day camps, like learning about animals at Dickerson Park Zoo, Junior Golf Clinics and Skateboarding Camps. Valley Water Mill Park Equestrian Center hosts beginning to advanced horse-riding camps. Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park offers half-day and full-day seasonal farm-themed camps. The Park Board also has summer figure skating, ice hockey, archery, swim lessons, baseball, tennis, day trips with Outdoor Initiatives and more! There’s something for everyone!
Dreaming of a stunning outdoor wedding? Many park locations are VERY affordable at $500 or less or choose a gazebo at the Botanical Gardens for just $100/hr. The Springfield-Greene County Park Board has dozens of locations including: Springfield Botanical Gardens, Lake Springfield Boathouse, Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, Jordan Valley Park, Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden, Northview Center inside of Doling Park and Park Pavilions. Any of these would make an unforgettable ceremony and/or reception.
