The first single off Kids and Chemicals upcoming concept album, After Life, displays a new evolution of the Springfield quartet. Kids and Chemicals started in 2010 as an electronic-driven sibling duo of Liz and Patrick Carney. Guitarist Jason Nunn and drummer Blake Mixon joined the mix, and “Sea of Trees” reflects the group’s rockier current sound. The gigantic crunching of guitars are balanced by choice samples and the euphoric vocal tones of Liz Carney, recall The Cranberries in this case. Kids and Chemicals plays Thursday, April 6 at Front Of House Lounge.
