Mango Black Tea

Cherry Picker Package x Fare

601 S. Pickwick Ave., Springfield, 417-986-5800

This is tea at its best thanks to its simplicity. The only punch of flavor needed here is the burst of fruity mango that greets you with each sip. Unsweetened and chilled, the mango black tea at Cherry Picker is always a palate-pleaser. It goes well with any of this teensy restaurant’s sandwiches or their Sunday brunch.

Berry Green Tea

Craft Sushi

1251 E. Sunshine St., Suite 116, Springfield, 417-319-5887

There are a handful of flavored and freshly brewed teas at Craft Sushi, and all the ones we’ve tried have been tasty. The one that really won us over, though, is the unsweetened berry green tea. It’s light and refreshing with a bit of fruity brightness that gently offsets all that craveable green tea bitterness.

House Iced Tea

Tea Bar & Bites

621 S. Pickwick Ave., Springfield, 417-866-7500

If you haven’t yet beat the summer heat with a tall glass of iced tea at Tea Bar, you’re missing out. There is quite a variety of loose leaf tea on the menu here, so whether you’re craving bitter or fruity, you’ll find something to quench that thirst. With all those options, it might sound boring, but our favorite drink at Tea Bar will always be the house iced tea. It’s light and refreshing, with no sweetness but just the slightest hint of anise flavor to spice things up.

When it comes to a hearty black tea, few do it better than Nearly Famous. This tea packs in the flavor while still providing a balanced and light body. The black tea at Nearly Famous has a classic flavor profile, but it is brewed nice and strong—an ideal thirst quencher for the iced tea purist.

Iced Yerba Mate

Cafe Cusco

234 E. Commercial St., Springfield, 417-836-8088

Yerba mate is popular in South America and is brewed from the leaves of the mate tree. With a flavor a little bit greener and earthier than other teas, yerba mate benefits from the tiny touch of sweetness that they add.
