Kaitlin Denney and Christopher Powell were best friends for four years before they started dating. When they began dating in 2021, the two had an unspoken feeling they were going to get married. “Chris was always consistent,” Kaitlin says. “I think that in my life, that’s what I needed.” Christopher had a little girl, and Kaitlin had a little boy before they got married. The two worked together to make sure everyone was ready for the next step. “Whenever it’s not just two people coming together, but you’re blending your families and your kiddos, you just have to be mindful of all the moving pieces,” Kaitlin says.

The proposal was intimate and happened at Kaitlin’s loft, a place that became the couple’s spot over the course of their relationship and friendship. They both decided there was no reason to wait to get married, so they hired Courtney from Allie Rose Events to help ensure all the boxes were checked for their big day. While planning a wedding can be stressful, Kaitlin says Courtney made the big day feel like a breeze. “She made a process that is very taxing and very stressful for a lot of couples so seamless.”

As for the big day, it snowed. Christopher jokes that Kaitlin must have paid extra for the snow that came down on their wedding day. The cocktail party was initially planned to be outside at Greenhouse Two Rivers, but plans changed and the couple made it work. Although the snow was unexpected, Kaitlin says she wouldn’t have changed a thing. The snow created an incredible backdrop against the glass windows and fit right in with Kaitlin’s color scheme of whites and neutrals.

Doing a first look with their children and having their pastor from church officiate the wedding are just two of the ways Kaitlin and Christopher made their wedding special and filled with the love from those surrounding them. “We had everyone there that we loved, and it was just perfect,” Kaitlin says.
