As soon as you come across the farmhouse that Ramsey Building constructed for the Tucker family, you're struck by its seclusion. Here is this wonderful modern farmhouse with very little around it, commanding its own space. The whole thing creates a bit of a wow factor. Anchored by a big protruding porch with leaded glass, this expansive farmhouse is the definition of the word modern. “You can look at the house and tell we used very simple products,” Ramsey says. “We try not to overdo the outside but still make it attractive.” Extravagant isn’t really in the vocabulary of a farmhouse, but that doesn’t necessarily mean sacrificing or stifling creativity. Ramsey was concerned with staying true to the vision and the land’s roots. It was once an operating farm, and establishing a lived-in look was important in giving the home personality. “We wanted it to look like it was something that belonged there instead of building a style of home that didn’t fit the lay of the property,” Ramsey says.
