Seven-piece Midwest Mutts dance across genres in its four-part video collection, Live from The Barn, released last week. The series gives a look inside the band’s rehearsal space while exploring soul, funk, indie rock and rock ‘n’ roll over four tracks. With vocalist Mason Skaggs at the front, a trumpet and more, Midwest Mutts swing from the wildly danceable funk number “Hand Over Hand” to the droning rock of “Too Hot To Hold.” All the while, the band delivers a message of finding, and being true to, yourself. The series, recorded live by Doc O’Conner and produced visually by James McCullough, leads off with blues rocker “Curtains of Conversation.”
