Dough Re Mi

Knead out a little aggression and whip up a plate of pasta this weekend—all the cool kids are doing it! We’re starting with the pasta how-tos in 417 Home and gaining a little inspiration from the lusciously green pasta dishes at places like Progress and The Order or the super-fresh plates at Harvest and Piccolo (where you can even go gluten-free!).

Get ready to fiesta: Tequila & Mezcal opens this weekend! The restaurant, replacing the former Yoselin’s, is opening in a lightly renovated space with a revamped menu, including expanded cocktail and dessert options. Tequila & Mezcal is currently accepting reservations for Friday and Saturday night, and the first 100 tables reserved receive a free cheese dip or dessert. 

The Golden Fork

If you’re not feeling up to rolling out your own pasta dough, you can always plop down at a restaurant instead, and at The Order, you’ll be in good hands. Hotel Vandivort’s Director of Food and Beverage Dylan Rauhoff was named the 2019 Restaurateur of the Year by the Missouri Restaurant Association’s Southwest Chapter, which held its annual industry Golden Fork awards ceremony on Sunday.

A New York State of Mind

Progress is kicking off the new year with a new round of tasting dinners. The seven-course experience includes seven small-production wines paired with each course. The first dinner is next Wednesday and is inspired by chef Daniel Ernce’s recent trip to New York. Reserve a spot online or by calling 417-799-9388. 

Get Him to the Greek 

Greek Belly is really embracing its name at this weekend’s Big Fat Greek Night. The all-day event includes belly dancers, singing, dancing, Greek wines and cocktails and special lunch and dinner dishes. Reserve a spot via Facebook, by emailing greekbelly@gmail.com or by calling 417-597-3382. 

A Lot of Lattes

Get a caffeine buzz this Saturday at the Latte Art Throwdown + Kick the Keg event at Cherry Picker Package + Fare. Face off against local baristas to deliver your best foam artwork and help drain a keg of 4 Hands Brewing Co. Liquid Wet Hop IPA—whoever gets the last glass also wins a prize.
