Crush Missouri Spirits’ Juicy Pineapple Cilantro Gimlet

Deep down, a little part of me fancies myself to be a tropical babe, hula-ing my way across a sparkling beach, sipping a cocktail from a coconut, an orchid jauntily perched in my hair. Unfortunately for my inner Hawaiian hunni, I live in landlocked Missouri, and I hate the sweet, saccharine taste of fruity drinks.

Fortunately for all of us, though, Missouri Spirits (507 W. Walnut St., Springfield) has delivered the juiciest, most refreshing fruit cocktail without that cloying syrupy sweetness. The pineapple cilantro gimlet is light and completely crushable thanks to pineapple puree, fresh lime juice and Missouri Spirits gin. Herbaceous cilantro and a touch of simple syrup round out the drink. You might not be on a beach, but close your eyes and take a sip. You’ll agree—this is better.
