When the time comes to sell your house, calling in a professional stager can be a great way to get your home market ready. Not ready to make a move? We’ve asked Madi Johnson and Kelley Strong, co-owners of Fourteen Fifteen Staging, and Jacqueline Inniger, owner of 417 Staging & Redesign, for simple and affordable ways to spruce up your existing spaces.

The Power of Paint

“Every now and again it just needs a refresh,” Strong says. Be creative and don’t limit paint to just your walls. “Green kitchen cabinets are trending right now,” Inniger says.

Magic With Mirrors

Does your room feel dark or cramped? Add a large mirror to reflect light and make a room feel bigger. “A big mirror can also be a focal point in a room or a statement piece above a fireplace,” Inniger says.

Bring the Outdoors In

“It’s important to introduce natural elements into the home,” says Johnson. Plants provide a sense of calm and add natural color.  Don’t have a green thumb? Go faux!

Finishing Touches

Details often make the biggest impacts. Our pros suggest installing new cabinet hardware, adding peel-and-stick wallpaper and updating lighting and art. “The little things can make a huge difference in your home,” Johnson says.
