Schuchmann Meats Second Location is Now Open

We don’t know about you, but Schuchmann Meat Co. has blown us away in just the few months they’ve been open. It’s a one-stop shop with an abundant selection of ready-to-cook steaks and meats, house-cured and imported cold cuts, decadent cheeses, and high-quality pantry items like seasonings, sauces and cocktail mixers.

Now there’s a second location, too! At 520 W. University St.,the new shop looks south over West Sunshine. We’re excited to see this business already expanding and spreading its footprint in 417-land. P.S.: All frozen meats at the University Street location are currently 20% off!

Blueberry Season

Get them before they’re gone! With blueberry season in full swing, you don’t want to miss the chance to get your hands on some fresh berries. Whether you grab a carton from the farm stand or head to one of 417-land’s many farms to pick your own, there’s a lot to make of those little berries. Try a blueberry lemonade or sprinkle them over some tasty French toast. Blueberry season won’t last much longer, so make sure to get out while you can.

Oh Crepe!

Has there been a lack of crepes in your life lately? Look no further. The Crepe Shack is a new crepe-centric food truck taking on 417-land. Lately, they’ve been posted up in the parking lot of Relics Antique Mall, but they like to move around, too. Choose from one of their specialty crepes like the cheesecake and strawberry-filled “strawberry fields,” or the s’mores-inspired “It’s A Party.” You can also build your own crepe or opt for a smoothie instead. Go get crepe-y!

Julie’s Chewies Changes Ownership

Long time 417-land sweet shop Julie’s Chewies has turned the page on a new chapter. Larry and Rebecca Eddings had their wedding catered by Julie’s Chewies a while back, and have felt a special connection to the bakery ever since. So when they found out that previous owners of the bake shop, Hal and Brenda White, were planning to retire, they knew they couldn’t let the bakery close for good and bought the business. It warms our hearts to know that someone who loves Julie’s Chewies so much will continue to preserve those baked goods for all of 417-land.
