Anthony Park
Schools: Disney, Cherokee and Kickapoo
Home prices: $400,000–800,000
Located in southeast Springfield off National Avenue, approximately half a mile south of Plainview Road, Anthony Park is named after generations of the Anthony family who were the land’s first homesteaders in 1910. The wooded acres and homesites offer a feeling of seclusion close to shopping, schools and health care. The primarily masonry homes are considered maintenance-free and floor plans range from 2,200 to 5,000 square feet with both crawl space and walkout options. A neighborhood pool should be finished in time for owners to enjoy this summer.
Forest Trails
Schools: Hickory Hills, Glendale
Home prices: $300,000–500,000
Located at Farm Road 136 (East Cherry Street) and Farm Road 193, Forest Trails is a quiet, gated community just east of Hickory Hills Country Club with quick access to Highway 65. This is not a “cookie cutter” subdivision. The 3,000- square-foot homes are a hybrid of traditional and contemporary/transitional styles from a variety of builders and designers. The lots are around 90% sold and interested buyers can check out the model homes on site.

Home sizes range from 1,950 to 3,500 square feet with three to five bedrooms, 2 to 3 1/2 baths and three-car garages. Subdivision amenities include walking trails, lakes with fountains stocked for fishing, a pool with bathhouse, water slide and wading pool, pavilion, tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball and picnic area with barbecue grills. An Augusta model home opens in March. Contact the developer for available homesites.
